Offered here is an extraordinarily rare Winchester Model 94 “Italy Anagni” 25th Anniversary, serial number 3 of only 25 ever produced. Manufactured in 1989 to commemorate the 25th anniversary (1964–1989) of Winchester’s ammunition plant in Anagni, Italy, this limited-edition carbine represents one of the most exclusive Model 94 commemoratives ever created. Chambered in the classic .30-30 Winchester with a 20" barrel, traditional lever action, and standard open sights with flip-up ladder, it maintains the iconic handling and balance that made the Model 94 a legend—yet elevates it to a true presentation-grade collectible.
The engraving and gold work on this rifle are exceptional. Executed and signed by Bottega C. Giovanelli, the receiver features extensive floral scroll engraving enhanced by elaborate gold inlays. The left side displays a gold-inlaid bust of Oliver Winchester, flanked by a lawman and a Native American, with a cowboy scene and the Anagni ammunition plant depicted below. The right side features a raised gold Winchester logo and a banner marked “25th Anniversary 1964–1989,” all framed by a gold inlaid border. Gold embellishments extend to the barrel, including floral scroll at the breech and dual gold bands at the muzzle, with additional engraved flourishes on the lever, buttplate, forearm cap, and magazine cap. The rifle is fitted with beautifully figured, multi-point checkered walnut furniture and a classic crescent steel buttplate, completing the presentation.
Condition is very fine, retaining 99%+ of its original blue and coin finishes, with all gold inlays intact and only the faintest handling marks. The wood remains excellent with sharp checkering and minimal signs of storage. Original factory grease is still present, and the rifle is mechanically excellent. It is accompanied by its original factory case, correctly serial numbered and marked “3 of 25,” complete with case key. With only twenty-five examples ever produced, this is one of the most desirable and scarce limited-edition Winchester Model 94 rifles ever offered—a true collector centerpiece that seldom comes to market.
