Like-new Browning BAR II chambered in the hard-hitting .338 Winchester Magnum, manufactured in 1992 by FN Herstal in Belgium for Browning S.A. and assembled in Portugal. This model was produced for the European market and was never officially imported into the United States—its closest U.S. equivalent being the BAR Mk II Safari—making it a rare and highly desirable find for Browning collectors and hunters alike.
The rifle features a 25" barrel with a crisp bore and sharp rifling, retaining 100% of its original deep blued finish. The LPA adjustable rear sight and ramped bead front sight remain intact, with the factory scope mounting holes still fitted with the original plug screws. Mechanically excellent, with a smooth action, crisp trigger, and flawless reliability.
The straight-comb walnut stock is beautifully finished, featuring fine factory checkering on the semi-pistol grip and forend. The walnut rates excellent overall, showing only the faintest handling evidence, and is fitted with a factory Browning recoil pad.
At 8 lbs. 7 oz., the rifle balances perfectly for hunting heavy game, while its European-market exclusivity makes it a standout in any collection.
