Offered here is a like-new Browning BAR II Light chambered in the highly regarded 9.3x62, manufactured in 2003 by FN Herstal in Belgium for the European market. This is not a later production variant—this is a true Belgian-made BAR, built to a higher standard and rarely encountered in the United States, as this configuration was not officially imported. Featuring a compact 19.5" barrel, 4-round detachable magazine, and weighing just 7 lb 6 oz, this rifle was purpose-built for fast, instinctive shooting in driven hunts. The 9.3x62 cartridge remains one of Europe’s most respected big-game calibers, offering decisive performance on wild boar, red stag, and even African plains game. Sighting equipment includes a driven-hunt rear sight paired with a red fiber-optic front for rapid target acquisition, while the receiver is factory drilled and tapped with original plug screws intact.
Condition is like-new, showing only the faintest handling marks. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, the action cycles smoothly, the trigger is crisp, and the rifle is mechanically excellent. The alloy receiver features a matte finish, and the barrel retains 100% of its original blue. The rifle is stocked in attractive Monte Carlo walnut with skip-line checkering on the pistol grip and forend, complemented by a Browning buttplate and dual sling swivel studs (buttstock belly and forend base). Belgian-made BARs in 9.3x62—especially with the desirable 19.5" driven-hunt barrel—are increasingly difficult to source.
