About Us: I have collected interesting firearms for about 60 years, and am a Benefactor/Life NRA member. I feel that it is now time to start selling a few things. All firearms transactions will be handled by a local Gun shop and will follow all firearms laws. All firearms purchased will be shipped by them to your F.F.L. I do my best to price my items fairly. If you think that my price is out of line, please make an offer. I don't have much room for negotiation, but I will work with you if I can. Please keep checking my items and I will try to add regularly to my listings. I hope to find good homes for these items that are special to me. Please read descriptions and terms, I will endeavor to be accurate.

Description:
Pre-War Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action Rifle chambered in .270 W.C.F. with Lyman Alaskan 2.5X Scope with a Post-Crosshair. This one was made in 1938, making it 88 years old. I purchased this one in 1998 from the 80 year old original owner. There have been several Trophy Bucks taken by this .270. Even though the rifle has been carried and used, it functions perfectly. It is accurate, with a bright bore and strong riflings. It has been hunted several seasons in a scabbard from a horse and the stock shows lots of small scratches but no cracks on gouges. The stock has never been altered and retains the original Winchester checkered steel buttplate.  This stock would be an excellent cantidate for a refinish/ restoration if you wanted to go that way. The metal shows wear that is consistent with the stock but retains lots of the original soft rust bluing that pre-war model 70s are known for. The bolt is in excellent shape and is numbered to the receiver.
The original Lyman Alaskan scope is bright and clear and I love the Post- Crosshair reticle. The rear receiver has had one hole drilled and tapped professionally to accept the scope mount.
This is one of those Vintage Rifles that served its loving owner well for many years. He told me that before Deer season, he would shoot 3 shots at a target to make sure that it was "on". He told me that when he took it hunting, one shot was all that it required. I thought I saw him wink a little on that last one. This rifle has a lot of life left and would be a great deer rifle for many years to come. It is not the new, space age carbon fiber whizbang in 6.5 Thumb licker, it is just a classic, vintage hunting rifle from a time gone by. Sometimes we like to relive that feeling when we hunt.
Please look over the photos carefully. I have endeavored to take accurate photos that depict the actual condition of the item. Please contact me with any questions, Thank you for looking!

Return Policy Guidelines of GunsInternational  Unless the buyer and seller agree to modify, as may be the case in a new gun, layaway, international sales and for used guns and accessories it must be clearly marked in the listing as No Return, the return policy is three (3) calendar days from the day the item(s) are received by the buyer or delivered to the FFL acting for the buyer.   The item may be returned for any reason, but the buyer must notify the seller within the three (3) calendar day inspection period.  The buyer must start the return within the next four (4) calendar days to receive a complete refund, less all shipping, transaction fees and FFL charges.  On a return the buyer must not remove the firearm from the FFL premises without approval of the seller.  Once the firearm has been received by the seller and inspected a prompt refund will be issued.  Shipping must start within one week of receipt of the item(s).  The return shipping must be of equal shipping level, including insurance i.e... Priority, Express, Blue Label etc.  The return item MUST be in the same condition as when shipped to the buyer.  This is an inspection period only, a gun is not to be fired or disassembled.  Sellers written permission is required to allow the buyer to take down a takedown model during the inspection period. Upon the receipt and inspection of the returned gun, the seller agrees to issue a prompt refund. Recommendation: Confirm purchase with all details via the Contact Seller form within the listing and print out the listing for your records. Industry standard is that if a buyer fails to perform on a layaway that any monies deposited are forfeited.  GunsInternational recommends all layaways are agreed in writing. Any modification of the 3 day return policy must be in writing by both buyer and seller.
