Mirror bright bore, correct manual mechanics, a gun that would be a wonderful addition to anyone's collection! HIGH CAPACITY MAGAZINE RESTRICTION! Description: Winchester M1 Carbine manufactured in 1943, serial number 1076085, .30 caliber, with standard 18" barrel and 15-round magazine capacity. The chamber is marked "U.S. CARBINE CAL .30 M1", with rear receiver marked "WINCHESTER" above SN: "1076085". "L" on top of front sight. "W" markings are stamped on various components including the top of barrel (breaking finish), recoil plate, hammer, front of clip release, and trigger guard housing. Fixed blade front sight and flip-up rear sight assembly with square "S" marked base. Handguard with "4" inside channel, no "W". Early high wood walnut stock with "I" cut, no pistol grip marking, right side of butt marked W.R.A./G.H.D. followed by large ordnance wheel, metal buttplate. Blued 15-shot magazine is marked with "U" on the spine. This serial number falling within Winchester's first production block manufactured from October 1942 to December 1943, explaining "I" cut stock. The M1 Carbine was standardized on October 22, 1941, and over 6.1 million were manufactured during World War II by various contractors, making it the most produced small arm for the American military during the war.
