The Lee–Enfield chambered in .303 British with a 20.5" barrel is most commonly associated with the No. 5 Mk I “Jungle Carbine," a shortened and lightened variant developed for use in dense terrain during the mid-20th century. This bolt-action rifle is known for its smooth, rear-locking bolt design that allows for rapid cycling compared to many other military rifles of its era.
