The Smith & Wesson Model 637-2 Airweight is a compact J-frame revolver chambered in .38 Special +P, designed primarily for concealed carry and personal defense. It features a lightweight aluminum alloy frame combined with a stainless steel cylinder and barrel to offer a balance of portability and durability. Its rounded contours and light weight make it "virtually disappear" when carried in a pocket or appendix holster. Due to its light weight, experts from Snubnose Files mention that recoil can be "stout" or "snappy," especially when using +P defensive loads. It is widely praised for its simple "point and shoot" manual of arms, which is often preferred by those who find semi-automatic slides difficult to operate.
