Description:
The Smith & Wesson Model 627 Performance Center (PC) is a heavy-duty, large-frame N-frame revolver chambered in .357 Magnum and .38 Special +P. It is best known for its high-capacity 8-round cylinder. Because it is built on the large N-frame (typically used for .44 Magnum), it "tames" the recoil of .357 Magnum rounds exceptionally well. Despite its weight (over 2 lbs), it conceals surprisingly well in a high-quality IWB holster due to its short barrel and rounded grips. It is frequently cited as a "jack-of-all-trades" revolver, suitable for competition, home defense, and even as a "woods gun" for protection against small-to-medium predators.
