UNCLEANED, ATTIC CONDITION EARLY 1887 12 GA. LEVER SHOTGUN, #15XXX, MADE 1888. This fine example has never been altered or even cleaned. The 30” barrel and magazine have a most attractive plum/brown aged patina. Similarly, the receiver case colors have just turned an even dark brown. Usually, both receiver and barrels on these are found in silver gray condition. Stock and forearm are generally very fine with only light handling marks and are a dark color from 138 years of collected grime! Wood to metal fit is tight, retains the checkered steel butt plate, action is tight with strong safety half-cock, exc. markinngs. Fine bore with the usual scattered surface areas of light corrosion. A really attractive, unfooled with example. These are loads of fun to shoot with readily available brass shells and black powder!
