Description: General Specs: Steyr Mannlicher, 1905-1910, 7.65x21mm, 32OZ., Barrel 6 1/2" Serial Number: 26465 Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer the Steyr Mannlicher Modelo 1905 self-loading pistol. Originally designed by Ferdinand Ritter von Mannlicher in 1899, the pistol would undergo several iterations before becoming the M1905. The Steyr Mannlicher is a contemporary of the Mauser C96, Bergman 1894, and the Luger. The M1905 would see civilian and military use throughout the early 20th century, most of which in South America and Austria-Hungary. Both Argentina and Paraguay had military contracts for the Model 1905, and it continued to serve in the Argentine army with close to 10,000 pistols seeing use by the Argentine army. This example, serial number 26465, was Produced by Waffenfabrik Steyr somewhere between 1905 and 1910. The gun has been very nicely restored with much care taken; it has 99% bluing on the barrel, trigger guard, and frame. With this pistol comes an empty Argentine ammo box, which will look rather nice next to this gun in your display! A great choice for obscure militaria collectors and a gun that can be taken to the range for some fun without worrying about damaging a historical artifact!
