Description:
The C. Sharps four-shot pepperbox is an antique rimfire handgun chambered in .30 Rim Fire. It uses a spur-trigger design and features four 3-inch barrels a rotating firing pin hammer. The frame is constructed of brass, and the barrels show an aged gray patina consistent with its period manufacture. A front bead sight is fitted at the muzzle. The serial number is 22055.
This pepperbox is used and retains approximately 80 percent of its original condition. The brass frame displays uniform toning with surface wear typical of age. The brown checkered grips remain intact and are free of cracks or chips. Barrel surfaces exhibit a smooth gray finish with visible patina. The bores are described as very good, showing clear rifling and bright surfaces. The mechanical action functions with firm engagement of the spur trigger and barrel rotation.
No accessories or additional components are included beyond the assembled firearm. The piece presents as a complete antique C. Sharps pepperbox configured with four barrels, brass frame, and original grip panels. All identifying markings, including serial number 22055, are present on the frame. This firearm reflects its historical design and finish characteristics consistent with late 19th-century C. Sharps manufacturing.
