Description:
Made in 1924 with 32" barrels for noted shooter J.P. Dannenfelser who was a professional trap shooter in New York City. Gun built on a regular weight frame with splinter forend. Casehardened sidelock receiver is very nicely engraved in scroll and bird pattern as seen in the photos. Gun built with Hunter One SST, auto ejectors, and safety. Round knob pistol grip buttstock is very nicely figured and checkered in fleur-de-lis pattern and terminates with a SIlvers type pad.
Gun remains as new as professionally restored. Retains virtually all restored finishes to wood and metal surfaces. Bores are brilliant and shiny. Mechanics are perfect. This gun is incredibly pleasing to the eye!
J.P. Dannenfelser was known to have shot with Annie Oakley and Frank Butler as a trap shooter from NYC. More research should be done on this fascinating Smith!
