Description:
VERY FINE BISLEY, .32-20, 7 1/2” BARREL, #312XXX, MADE 1910. This is a really interesting Colt as the grips have matching numbers to the frame, trigger guard and back strap. On the outside of the left grip is “4 – 10” and on the right grip is a monogram of intertwined letters “RWB.” Inside the grips appears to be a ranch brand (see photos) as well as the name “R. W. Brown” scratched in. The outside markings on the grips are done extremely neatly. The left grip has a rub spot above the “10” but aside from this are in excellent condition. The barrel retains fine deep factory blue with only a little muzzle wear on each side and more of a gray streak coming back for a couple of inches on the left side from holster carry. The cylinder shows most of the blue with some normal edge wear. Grip straps are mostly gray with good blue on the butt and trigger guard. The left side of the frame shows fairly vivid case color in front of the cylinder and lighter, faded case colors on the side. The right side also shows vivid case color in front of the cylinder with some light case color mixing mottled gray on the sides. There is some good case color on the recoil shields around the hammer. All sharp markings, excellent screws and base pin that all show good blue. Action has four clicks, cylinder is tight and the bore is excellent. Some good historical information might be found researching the name with the brand inside the grips. Long barrel Bisleys are getting hard to find, especially this nice.
