Description: A wondrous lightweight antique built by MacNaughton, this 28ga gun built with 24" fluid steel barrels. Splinter forend is full coverage checkered. Roundbody receiver is beautifull scroll engraved with Makers name on fences "MacNaughton" on left & "Edinburgh" on right. Gun has auto swing safety and Dicksons patented cocking slide crystal cocking indicator and gold washed internals! Straight grip buttstock is very nicely figured and terminates with its original checkered butt. Gun is accompanied by its original maker's motor case. This exact gun is pictured in "AMERICAN & BRITISH .410 SHOTGUNS" by Gabriel on page 128 with its case. Gun remains in beautiful overall condition. Barrels with nearly all of their proper rust blue finish, likely done at the time of nitro proving. Frame with crisp engraving and traces of original color remaining. Stocks are excellent and sound. Bores are brilliant and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. This is a really rare gun in excellent condition. It would be a helluva good grouse gun being lightweight and capable for that kind of work!
