Designed by John Moses Browning and finalized by Colt’s engineers F. Chadwick and G. Tansley, the Woodsman was first introduced in 1915 and was to be in production in various forms until 1977. The pistol was the first successful semi-automatic .22 rimfire gun to be offered, earlier attempts had been problematic, but Mr. Browning got it right by using an angled magazine to ensure the rimmed cartridge would not ‘rimlock’ onto its predecessor. The Woodsman has remained a favorite with shooters and collectors since its introduction. This example serial number 223230-S was manufactured in 1968 and is in superb condition with 99% of its original factory finish with clear roll marks and a mirror bore. The target trigger is exceptional and breaks cleanly at 3.8lbs and it comes factory fitted with a heavy barrel and adjustable target sights, ideal for your next competition. Included with are its original box, test target, and documents. Have a look at the detailed specifications and pictures below. Thanks for looking!
