Description: The Karabiner 98 kurz was the primary service rifle for the German military during World War 2, being supplemented by semi automatic rifles and machine guns. This example is marked CE 44, the marking for J.P. Sauer for wartime production. Overall condition is somewhat poor, but without any deep pits anywhere but inside the bore. It is unfortunately missing many parts, as it was likely used as a parts gun, however all of the remaining parts are numbers matching. Due to the numbers matching nature and the consistent shallow corrosion, this rifle would be a good candidate for restoration if one wishes to put in the time. Alternatively if one wishes this to be an action doner, keep in mind that the barrel is the only location that bears the rifle's serial number.
