Up for sale today is a phenomenal opportunity for a wingshooter or collector alike- A Browning Gran Lightning Citori in 16ga. This discontinued model is the most desirable iteration of the 16ga Citoris, which are already a scarce gun.
Featuring 28” Invector barrels, a classic prince of wales style lightning stock with wonderful figure in both the buttstock and forearm, this shotgun is a faithful copy of the iconic Browning Superposed, which is the benchmark for sporting O/Us.
Not only is this shotgun chambered in 16ga, is is complete with the original box, packaging, paperwork, and accessories, which includes 3 factory original chokes. As this model was discontinued by Browning and replaced with the current iteration of the Gran Lightning and the far lesser “Hunter” series, this is likely a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase a discontinued model that already saw limited production. Many of these guns are in the hands of serious 16ga aficionados and see regular field use, and seldom come to market.
16ga is a wonderful cartridge, and is as versatile as any, with a bit more ballistic ability than 20 and 28ga. With it’s 28” barrels and Invector chokes, this gun would be at home in any gunning situation, from grouse and woodcock, to far flushing pheasant and waterfowl.
I would describe this as Like New In Box- it has one minute handling mark on the stock, as pictured. I do not believe this gun was fired more than a box or two of shells, based on my visual inspection of the bores, breech face, and what appears to be factory grease evident. Please inspect all pictures carefully and do not hesitate to request more information or photographs.
