Wood is sound and fit is either flush or proud to the metal depending on location. The barrel is 26" long. Front sight is original, rear sight appears to be from an early Winchester. The bore semi bright with typical black powder erosion visible. Rifling is unbroken from chamber to muzzle and continuously improving towards the muzzle. Rifle shot quite well when it was test fired using .314 dia gas checked bullets and IMR4198.
