The Ruger New Model Blackhawk in .45 Colt with a 7.5-inch barrel is a traditional single-action revolver that blends classic "Old West" ergonomics with modern safety and accuracy features. It is widely recognized for its robust, solid-frame construction. Unlike vintage single-actions, the "New Model" features a patented transfer bar mechanism and a loading gate interlock. This allows the revolver to be carried safely with all six chambers loaded, as it prevents accidental discharge if the hammer is struck unless the trigger is fully pulled.
