Payment Types Accepted: USPS Money Order, Certified Cashiers (Bank) Check Description: Scarce Irwin Pedersen M1 Carbine with the lowest serial number I’ve seen offered for sale (1765062). As with most WWII era carbines, this example is an interesting “mix & match”of parts and shows signs of an arsenal rebuild at some point in its life. It also has an incredibly small and very light, partial Import Stamp (illegible) on the left side of the barrel near the front sight. Over-all condition is very good and the action functions correctly, however I have personally never fired the rifle. The bore is clean with strong lands & groves. The rifle is fitted with a Rock-ola barrel dated 2-43. It appears to have an early Type II “High Wood” Oval-Cut walnut stock that’s been cut down (not unusual) into a “Low Wood” configuration. The right side is stamped with an Ordnance Wheel and offset “RMC”, and the sling well is also stamped “RMC”. The underside of the 2 rivet upper hand guard is stamped “RSG”. Other notable stamped items include the following: Type II trigger housing stamped “S’G’” Safety button stamped “IP-A” Mag release stamped “CC" over "M” Left Side of rear flip sight stamped “S” Oiler stamped “IU” Magazine stamped “IA” and shows some light surface rust This Irwin-Pedersen M1 Carbine's receiver was produced very early in the first serial number block during late 1942 to early 1943. Irwin-Pedersen was awarded the contract but ultimately failed to meet government inspection standards, and no completed Irwin-Pedersen rifles were ever formally accepted for U.S. military service. As a result, IP carbines are highly sought after by collectors. I can provide additional photos upon request. Price includes shipping via USPS Priority Mail.
