VERY FINE CONDITION 1898 KRAG RIFLE, #469XXX, MADE 1903. One of the last of the great Krag rifles, this one retains a sharp and clear correctly corresponding to date of manufacture 1903 stock cartouche as well as the circle P cartouche. Fine lightly aged barrel blue and good blue on the barrel band/bayonet lug. The action is an uncleaned mottled brown with some good blue remaining on the ejector. Correct swivels and Rock Island Arsenal sling dated 1903. Good blue on the forward and rear portions of the trigger guard with a rub spot on the bottom from the sling. Has the correct M-1902 rear sight with the little peep plate intact. The stock and forearm show light handling only with one triangular chip/sliver at the left side upper portion by the butt plate that is about 1 ¾” long x 3/4" by the butt plate- very old and worn in. Tight action with bright excellent bore. Nice 123 year old Krag that has not been messed with and still retains the correctly dated sling!
