Only a few light marks and wear on the magazine keep this from being described as excellent but we are calling it good to excelent for a gun that left Winchester in New Haven 65 years ago. The factory hand chackering is still perfeclty sharp, the blue on the receiver of these is 2d to none just a couple of lighter spots on the barrel. Still has the front site hood. Both front and rear sites are still in place and it has a 1 piece Weaver scope base ready for rings and scope (we have many used period correct scopes that would go nicely with this fine rifle ...inquire
These are among our favorite woods rifles with beautiful graceful lines, short throw lever allowing for a fast follow up 2d shot without taking you're eye out of the site picure to help prevent wounded or lost game.
We've hunted with these and many have bolt gun type accuracy .
