The Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 10 Revolver, historically known as the Military & Police, is one of the most iconic revolvers ever produced by Smith & Wesson. Manufactured prior to 1957—before Smith & Wesson began assigning numerical model designations—these revolvers represent an important part of American firearms history and are highly respected for their durability, smooth trigger action, and dependable performance.
This revolver is chambered in .38 Special, a classic and widely used cartridge known for its manageable recoil, solid accuracy, and proven reliability. For generations, the .38 Special has been a preferred caliber for law enforcement, personal defense, and recreational shooting.
Featuring a 4-inch barrel, this revolver offers an ideal balance between accuracy and handling. The barrel length provides a longer sight radius for improved target acquisition while still keeping the firearm compact enough for practical carry or range use.
