Description:
Marlin 1892 lever action rifle with a 18".22 rimfire octagon barrel and  walnut stocks. The barrel reads Marlin Firearms co. New Haven CT USA pat' d' Nov. 19. 1878, Aug. 12, 1890, Mar 1, 1892.

The rifle is in fair condition. The receiver is mechanically functioning. The internal extractor appears to be a handmade replacement. Cosmetically, the rifle shows signs of period use and refinishing. The buttstock has been lightly sanded. The crescent buttplate was cut down and replaced with a vintage plastic shotgun-style buttplate. The barrel has also been modified from its original length of 24" to 18."

The rifle is decorated on the right side of the buttstock with a native beaded leather strip. The strip is affixed to the gun with 15 small copper tacks. It is unknown if this was done during the period of use or later. It was common for Native Americans to adorne their firearms.

Serial Number 321714.
Manufactured circa 1904.
