The Chiappa M9-22 is a rimfire semi automatic pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle and designed to replicate the size, controls, and ergonomics of the Beretta 92 / M9 service pistol. Manufactured by Chiappa Firearms in Italy, the M9-22 is commonly used for training, recreational shooting, and inexpensive practice due to the low cost and minimal recoil of .22LR ammunition. The pistol features a traditional double action and single action trigger system with an external hammer and frame mounted safety. It uses a fixed barrel design which can help improve accuracy compared to many blowback rimfire pistols. The frame is constructed from alloy while the slide is lightweight alloy to allow reliable cycling with rimfire ammunition. Standard sights include a three dot configuration for improved target acquisition.
