The last muzzle-loading firearm produced by Springfield Armory, the M1863 .58-caliber rifle musket saw extensive use in second half of the American Civil War. Navy Arms imported this faithful reproduction of the 1863 Springfield from renowned Italian firearm manufacturer Pedersoli. This one is unfired, with no rust on the barrel, lock, ramrod or hardware except for a blemish on top of the buttplate. Features a three-leaf folding rear sight. Stock condition is excellent. Bore is in unfired condition, with 3-groove, 1:72 rifling. Weight: 9.6 lbs. Barrel length: 40". OAL: 56". "BA" date code indicates 1991 manufacture.
