Description:
The Smith & Wesson 457 is a compact, semi-automatic pistol from S&W's "Third Generation" series. Part of the Value Series, it was designed to offer the legendary reliability of the premium Model 4513TSW but at a more affordable price point by simplifying the machining and finish. To lower costs, S&W used a matte finish rather than high-polish, eliminated the ambidextrous safety (it is right-hand only), and used a simplified slide profile without the decorative "step" found on premium 3rd Gen models. Safety/Decocker features a frame-mounted manual safety lever that also acts as a decocker, safely lowering the hammer from single-action to double-action mode. Despite being a compact .45, the metal frame and dual-recoil spring assembly help soak up the "push" of the .45 ACP, making it more comfortable to shoot than many modern polymer equivalents. Sights are low-profile three-dot combat sights, with the rear sight. Grips are standard with one-piece wrap-around black polymer grips that provide a slim profile for concealed carry. .45 Auto
