Description:
Ruger No. 1 chambered in .243 Winchester. This rifle features a strong, simple, compact falling-block breech mechanism with artillery-style breechblock and under-lever is ideally suited for today's powerful cartridges. It has a sliding tang safety that provides instant security, visibility, and accessibility. A robust, sturdy, sculptured receiver forms a rigid support for barrel, stock and sliding breech block. The ejector mechanism provides maximum leverage at the point where the ejector engages the cartridge case. A scope mount provides a stable mounting surface for mounting included scope rings. Included are 1-inch rings. Cold hammer-forged barrel results in ultra-precise rifling that provides exceptional accuracy and longevity. This barrel is threaded. The .243 Winchester is a popular sporting rifle cartridge. Based on a necked down .308 Winchester, it is a versatile short action cartridge used to hunt both medium game and small game alike.
