Anybody Looking?  Big Reduction  BIM $925 Delivered  Very Rare Black Box C Series 1851 Navy Second Gen. Colt

 Big price reduction!!!!!  925 delivered

Manufactured in 1971, this model C1121 was the 789th made when Colt resumed production of the famous revolvers.  The black box and “O” cipher on the frame in front of the trigger guard make this gun exceptionally collectable.  The old style black box from the early single action army series was only used for the first 1000 guns made.  SN 4201 was the first made so this serial number 4990 makes it very early production.  The most widely accepted theory about the cipher is that prominent collectors and members of the Colt Commemorative Committee were insistent that Colt used it as a means to identify "new" production guns from original models especially, since new production would begin at serial number 4201. This allowed time for the collecting and shooting public to absorb the fact that the 1851 Navy was back in production - thus reducing the potential of fakery.  Exceptional condition.  Unfired with faint evidence of the cylinder being turned.  Royal Blue finish.  They say that when most guns are at the range,  Colt royal blue guns are still at the factory being polished.
