Description:
Really a very cool two barrel set double rifle made by August Francotte and retailed here by Griffin and Howe when new. The gun is accompanied by a G&H research letter outlining its history and origins from researcher Bob Beach formerly of G&H. The gun itself built with 2 sets of 24" barrels - one in .270cal and the other in .30-40Krag caliber. Checkered forend with engraved Deeley latch release and iron. Near fully engraved boxlock receiver is beautifully accomplished in fine and large scroll. The capped pistol grip buttstock is nicely figured and terminates with its original Silver's type pad. Housed in its original Griffin and Howe supplied two barrel set case. Gun comes with two scopes as well as seen in the photos.
Gun remains in beautiful lightly field used original condition and remains all original. Barrels with about 97-99% original blue. Frame with more than 95% original case colors remaining. Stocks are excellent and sound with original finishes and only very minor handling marks. Bores are brilliant and shiny with strong rifling. Case is excellent with expected travel wear.
