Description:
This is a J.V. Needham sxs 12 Gauge shotgun with 30" Damascus barrels and 14" LOP. Choked Cylinder in the right and imp. Modified on the left. It is an A&D boxlock action with a Greener crossbolt with scoll engraving on the sides and floorplate. It has a slight right cast
Top rib reads "J.V. Needham. Loveday St. Birmingham" & "Patent Treble Wedge Fast"
Side Plates read "J.V. Needham" on both sides.
Barrel flats and water table do not show any Nitro markings hence my assumption these are damascus barrels. NOTE: This is a 2&1/2" chamber and suggested light loads only.
Gun is in good condition and has recently been inspected by a master gunsmith to make sure it is in shootable condition. It has a very cool brass repair patch over the grip which adds to its appeal as an antique gun. In addition the forarm has been repaired with
Needham was eventually acquired by WW. Greener and their name was used on Greeners field and 2nd or 3rd quailty guns. However I believe this gun was pre the Greener take over due to the Damascus barrels.
Overall a very unique and collectable classic English SxS in shooting condition.
