Description:
Serial #61556, .44 Caliber black powder percussion, 8 inch octagon barrel with a fine bore with very good rifling and light roughness. This is the Remington New Model Army Revolver manufactured during the Civil War. In good condition the inspector cartouche remains visible on the left grip with the appropriate marks visible on the frame, barrel and trigger guard. The barrel and frame are mostly gray with a cleaned pitted surface and the barrel markings are partially visible. The walnut grips are worn smooth showing scattered old contusions with several missing chips on the right side. The action functions holding at half and full cock.
