The M5 Carbine is designed as a next-generation rifle with input from military and special forces aimed at improving ergonomics and performance. The rifle features improved receivers with additional material added to reinforce potential failure points while improving rigidity to ensure repeatable zero. as well as ambidextrous controls to aid in off-handed shooting. Colt‚s new minimalist handguards provide seven surfaces of M-LOK slots for accessories as well as a full length flat top Picatinny extension for mounting laser aiming devices and remote switches.
These models were used as demonstration products for law enforcement agencies and may show signs of wear and handling. Each rifle comes with a Colt-branded Radian Raptor charging handle along with a set of Troy Industries flip-up battle sights and a Magpul CTR stock. Included with each rifle is one 30-round Magpul PMAG magazine along with a Colt nylon sling, Magpul polymer M-LOK cover panels, and an ALICE-style rifle cleaning kit.
