Description:
This Browning Sweet 16, a lightweight variant of the iconic Auto-5 semi-automatic shotgun, was produced in Belgium around 1951 and chambered in 16 gauge with a 2.75" chamber. This early post-war model featured a distinctive "humpback" receiver, a gold-plate trigger, and the Sweet Sixteen script engraving on the left side, with a front-of-the-trigger-guard safety design typical of pre-1950s transitional examples. Renowned for its balanced handling and reduced weight-achieved through specialized lightening cuts, a thinner barrel, and optimized components - it delivered reliable recoil-operated performance ideal for upland bird hunting, making it one of the most coveted 16-gauge autoloaders of its era.
