Unlike the cluttered \"Trench\" variants, the Riot configuration was prized for its snag-free profile and lightning-fast handling. This is a true \"E\" series shotgun, manufactured just as Winchester shifted its focus to the war effort, making it a prime piece for both the military historian and the Winchester purist.
Key Features & Specifications:
• Barrel: 20\" Steel barrel with the correct, factory-original \"CYL\" (Cylinder) stamp. This indicates a non-constricted bore designed specifically for the devastating spread of buckshot at close range.
• The \"Slam-Fire\" Legend: This historic action lacks a trigger disconnector. By holding the trigger and cycling the slide, the operator can unleash all 6 rounds in mere seconds—a feature that made the M97 feared on the front lines and respected by law enforcement.
• Condition: The metal retains a deep, honest patina with strong original bluing on the receiver and barrel. The walnut furniture shows the rich, dark character of 85 years of history without the heavy cracks often found on hard-used riot guns.
