Manufactured in Dunellen, NJ for the civilian market, this rifle was produced for consumers with USGI parts on a new Plainfield receiver. Plainfield carbines are well-regarded as dependable shooters with a high degree of USGI parts. This one seems to be composed mostly of M2 parts. The stock appears to be Korean era M2 (slotted). The trigger group is M2 and marked as Inland. The Op Rod is M2 and is a USGI marked replacement part I believe. Pretty much mostly M2 without the fun switch. This example shows honest use wear to the stock and metal, but the bore remains bright with strong rifling (see photos). Features & Specs: • Manufacturer: Plainfield Machine Co., Dunellen, NJ • Model: M1 Carbine (commercial production) • Caliber: .30 Carbine • Barrel: 18" • Stock: M2 era with slot for selector.
