Description:
The Springfield Armory XD-E in .45 ACP is a unique, slim-profile hammer-fired pistol designed specifically for concealed carry. It is distinguished from the rest of the XD series by its Double-Action/Single-Action (DA/SA) trigger and external hammer, offering a traditional manual of arms in a modern polymer package. The XD-E allows for multiple carry modes: shooters can carry it decocked (requiring a long, deliberate double-action pull for the first shot) or cocked-and-locked (carrying in single-action with the safety engaged, similar to a 1911). While the .45 ACP version is only available with the 3.3" barrel, its recoil management is often cited as better than expected for a subcompact due to the dual captive recoil spring system. Low Effort Slide (L.E.S.) is designed to require 27% less effort to rack compared to similar striker-fired pistols, making it ideal for those with reduced hand strength. Has a tactile and visual lever on top of the slide that indicates when a round is in the chamber. .45 ACP
