These conversions were carried out by the Portuguese military to modernize their small-arms inventory, and clean examples with matching numbers are getting increasingly scarce. This rifle is all-matching, a major plus for collectors of early European Mauser-pattern conversions. Metal and wood remain in good condition, showing honest age with no abuse. Bore is serviceable, action cycles smoothly, and all mechanical functions operate correctly.
