Browning 1886 Grade 1 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine in 45-70
This is a Browning 1886 Grade 1 Carbine in 45-70. It has a 22" round barrel and full magazine tube Pinned blade front sight & carbine leaf rear sight. It has standard walnut stocks, carbine butt plate, and barrel band on the fore stock. The left side of the bbl. is marked with Browning's importer information above "MADE IN JAPAN", followed by the cal. designation at the breech, with the model and cal. designations marked on the right. Upper receiver tang is marked "BROWNING MODEL 1886". It come with a matching factory box without a manual.
Condition:
This Browning 1886 Carbine is in near new condition and retains 99%+ finish overall. The metal components have a deep blue finish, the locking bolt is polished in-the-white and is in as new condition. The plain wood straight grip buttstock and forend are in excellent condition as well with the exception of a small handling mark on the right side. . It has a mint bore. Pinned blade front sight & carbine leaf rear sight and steel carbine butt plate are a fine condition.
It appears that this carbine, like the other one we have listed, was used very little since there is very little evidence that it was used. This carbine comes with original matching factory foam line box and without a manual. The box is in good condition and shows some exterior wear handling and storage and a small puncture on the bottom. These carbines were made between 1992-93 and were manufactured to be exact copies of the originals. They do not have the tang safeties or rebounding hammers and are as close as you can get to a modern version of the original Winchester 1886 carbine today. These carbines are rugged and chambered in the hard hitting 45-70 are reliable in the field and capable of hard use. This one is in almost as new condition. The Browning 1886 Grade 1 rifles and carbines of this vintage are not only in demand but are becoming collectable.
