The Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk with a 5.5-inch barrel is a heavy-frame, single-action revolver designed to handle the stoutest .44 Magnum loads. While the Super Blackhawk is famous for its massive 7.5-inch and 10.5-inch "dragoon" versions, the 5.5-inch model is prized for its superior balance and quicker handling in the field. The 5.5-inch model features a rounded trigger guard. This is generally preferred for "shooting from the hip" or carrying in a standard belt holster. Cold Hammer Forged Barrel provides ultra-precise rifling and a smooth bore for consistent accuracy and easier cleaning of lead fouling. .44 Magnum
