For sale is a Danzig 1891 GEW 88, military surplus firearm with split receiver.
i'm not a professional with regards to old military rifles. Doing the best I can to give an accurate description along with photos.
This rifle has matching serial numbers on the receiver and the barrel shroud (8726). There is an S on top the barrel shroud which I believe indicates the rifle was modified in 1905 for the Spitzer 8 mm. Beautiful vintage German rifle from the World War I era. Rifle has obviously seen some battle and use over the years. Rifle functions as it should and was packed in Cosmoline grease to preserve function and metal from corrosive ammo. Firearm has great metal patina with dark wooden stock and a metal butt plate. Please feel free to ask additional questions and I'll do the best I can to answer them
