Description:
The Smith & Wesson Model 5906 is a full-sized, third-generation semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm Luger. Introduced in 1989, it became a flagship duty weapon for numerous law enforcement agencies, including the NYPD and LAPD, due to its "tank-like" durability and reliable all stainless steel construction. Both the frame and slide are forged from stainless steel, offering exceptional corrosion resistance and longevity. Utilizes a one-piece, S&W wraparound nylon or rubber grip that helps manage the thickness of its double-stack magazine well. The 5906 is widely praised for its soft recoil and mechanical reliability, often referred to as "bombproof" by law enforcement veterans. While its weight makes it less ideal for modern concealed carry compared to polymer-framed pistols, it remains a favorite for home defense and range use. 9mm Luger
