Rare early nickel 38 Super Commander 1911 with an aluminum frame and aluminum Mexican made grips. Metal has been refinish but the overall condition is very good. This gun comes from the collection of retired Texas Ranger Ron C. Stewart. Retired Texas Ranger Ron Charles Stewart was a highly regarded law enforcement officer who served with the Texas Rangers for over 14 years, with a career spanning from 1970 to 1995. Following his 1970 graduation from the DPS Academy, Stewart served as a Highway Patrolman and an undercover narcotics agent. He later served as a Texas Ranger from 1980 to 1993 in Central Texas and later in the ""Big Bend"" region until 1995. After retiring, he worked as a U.S. Marshal special deputy and was a certified firearms instructor. Born in 1945, he was also a U.S. Army veteran.
