Description:
This is an interesting, possibly frontier modified, early No. 1 sporting rifle chambered in .40-50 Straight Sharps. Its half octagon, half round barrel was originally 30". It has been shortened to 24", possibly as a saddle gun. The bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling. Metal has a silvered, mottled finish. No corrosion. Action is crisp and tight. Stocks are in good plus antique condition. Would be a handy brush or tree stand rifle. $1300 + Shipping. More photos available.
