Guns Listing ID: 645402

The Remington 770 in .270 Win is a budget-focused, bolt-action hunting rifle introduced in 2007 (discontinued in 2019) as an upgraded successor to the 710, designed to be an affordable \"package gun\". It features a 22-inch carbon steel barrel, a synthetic stock, and a three-lug bolt with a 60-degree lift, usually bundled with a factory-mounted and bore-sighted 3-9x40mm scope.
Key Features and Description
Action & Performance: The 770 uses a detachable box magazine (4+1 capacity in .270) and is recognized for acceptable \"minute of angle\" (MOA) accuracy out of the box, making it suitable for deer hunting.
Design & Build: It utilizes a black synthetic stock with a raised cheekpiece, textured grips, and a rubber recoil pad. Some models were offered in camo finishes.
Bolt & Barrel: The rifle has a 22-inch barrel, often button-rifled, and a 3-lug, 60-degree bolt that allows for faster cycling, especially with optics mounted.
Value Proposition: Known as an entry-level or \"value-driven\" rifle, it often comes pre-equipped with a Scope.
Pros and Cons
Pros: Very affordable, decent accuracy, lightweight for hunting, comes with a scope.
Cons: Known for having a stiff or \"gritty\" bolt action compared to higher-end models, extensive use of plastic in the receiver/bolt guide components, and not designed for frequent barrel changes.
Common Uses
The .270 Winchester chambering makes this rifle ideal for, but not limited to, white-tailed deer, mule deer, and pronghorn hunting.
Note: The 770 was manufactured in Hickory, KY, and later Huntsville, AL, and was ultimately replaced in the Remington lineup.
