This rifle is in excellent used condition and represents a unique piece of Marlin and retail history—a 1979 OTASCO (Oklahoma Tire and Supply Company) commemorative rifle, part of an annual series produced from 1978 to 1987. The emblem on the stock celebrates the "American Hunting Tradition." Serial Number: TK004003. Based on the legendary Marlin Model 60—one of the most popular and successful .22 rifles ever made with over 11 million produced—this OTASCO commemorative features the JM-stamped barrel, indicating pre-Remington Marlin craftsmanship. It has a 22-inch barrel with Marlin's trademarked Micro-Groove® rifling (16-groove) for exceptional accuracy. The rifle is tube-fed with a brass inner tube magazine, holding approximately 14-15 rounds of .22 LR. The stock is birch (as introduced with the Model 60 to reduce production costs) and features engravings on the grip and fore-end that are in incredible condition. Scope & Sights: The rifle comes with a Tasco scope featuring a crosshair reticle. The optics are clean and clear; there is a dent on the objective lens side that does not noticeably affect sighting.
