Just so that we’re all on the same page, can we agree that not every firearm purchase has to have a good reason? Not every firearm purchased has to put meat on the table, protect your home, serve as an every day carry or mow down hordes of zombies. It’s perfectly ok to buy a firearm “just because". Just because it’s unusual, just because it’s fun, just because none of your buddies have one or any just because reason that you want.
That’s what we have in this rifle. Nothing fancy. Nothing that will drive tacks at 400 yards. Just an inexpensive, fun little unusual rifle. Nothing more. The AR-7 Explorer that we have on consignment (serial number D017680) was manufactured by AR-7 Industries. Previous versions were made by Survival Arms, Inc and Charter Arms. Subsequent versions were made by Armalite.
The takedown rifle is chambered in 22LR and has a 16 inch barrel. There’s an aperture rear sight and a dovetailed, fixed front sight. There’s a two position safety on the right side of the receiver. The stock is synthetic and also provides storage for the disassembled parts. When stowed/disassembled, the overall length is 16.5 inches.
The rifle doesn’t appear to have been shot much. Likely because the previous owner bought it . . . just because. The bore and barrel are clean. The stock and metal are in Excellent condition.
Assembly and disassembly is very easy. The rifle breaks into 3 parts, the barrel, the receiver and the stock.
If one of the just because reasons above applies to you, this inexpensive little rifle is ready to make the trek home with you.
Purchase includes the rifle as shown and (2) 8 round magazines. The second magazine is stored in the butt of the stock. No other items are included in the sale.
This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test fired this rifle. We have performed our function checks and find no issues to report. As with all pre-owned firearm purchases, please review the photos carefully so that you are comfortable with the condition of the rifle.
