Description:
HEAVY BARREL Antique ALLEN & THURBER .45 Cal. HOMESTEAD|HUNTING Long Rifle

Half-Stock Longarm Made in Worcester, Massachusetts

Here Ancestry Guns presents an antique Allen & Thurber Half-Stock Back Action Percussion Long Rifle, made circa the 1830s in Worcester, Massachusetts. This rifle was made to take a sturdy charge behind a .45 caliber ball for large game. It features barrel-mounted iron sights with an aperture in the barrel tang to take a peep sight. Double set triggers for improved precision and accuracy. A serious rifle for the American Frontier!

The overall condition is good. Original patina. The action is excellent. The set trigger makes this one very crisp and light. The bore is reflective with sharp rifling. The stock has some deep, thin scratches just forward of the trigger guard and a small, stable split at the lock screwhead on the left side and is otherwise solid.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 33-7/8 inches.

Caliber: .45 Percussion

Overall condition as seen in photos.
