Description:
The Winchester Model 61 is a classic American hammerless, pump-action rimfire rifle produced between 1932 and 1963. It was designed to modernize Winchester's slide-action lineup, replacing older exposed-hammer models like the 1890 and 1906 with a streamlined, side-ejecting design. All Model 61s are takedown rifles, meaning they can be easily separated into two halves (barrel/forearm and receiver/stock) by loosening a single screw on the left side of the receiver for cleaning or transport. Features a walnut stock with a checkered or grooved slide handle (fore-end) and a blued steel finish. The Model 61 was often marketed as an all-around sporting or "boy's rifle" during the Great Depression. It is highly regarded by collectors today for its exceptionally smooth action and robust all-steel construction, with roughly 342,000 to 348,000 units produced during its 31-year run. .22 Short/Long/Long Rifle
