Circa 1957 per serial number. Classic early rendition of Colt's most famous snake gun with a 6" barrel, added dot of red paint to front sight to enhance rear sight, and fully checkered walnut grips with golden medallions. Adjustable Accro "flat-top" rear sight. Housed in a later blue plastic Colt case. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining the vast majority of the factory finishes, with some superficial scratches to the finish throughout, and some thinning to sharp edges, mostly at muzzle and forward edge of cylinder. Distension about some proofs from factory application of stamp. Grips excellent with some minor handling marks and impressions. Mechanically fine, bore excellent with bright, strong rifling. A wonderful example of the King of Snakes when Colt was turning out some of their finest examples.
